Marcel JontÉ

“A father, creative, and believer—called to share a divine story through pain and purpose.”

Marcel Jonté is a husband, father, pastor, and storyteller whose life has been marked by both great joy and deep loss. He serves as the founder and lead pastor of Japan Kingdom Church, a multicultural Christian community in Tokyo committed to worship, healing, and purpose. Through Japan Kingdom Builders, Inc the church’s outreach and creative headquarters, Marcel leads initiatives that serve the homeless, empower local families, and create spaces where people from all backgrounds can encounter hope.

Alongside his wife Chiaki, Marcel walked through the sacred and sorrowful journey of losing their son, Joshua—“Jojo”—whose short time on earth revealed a divine assignment far beyond what anyone could have imagined. Through this book, Marcel shares the grief, signs, and faith that followed Jojo’s passing, offering hope to those who have lost and light to those still searching for meaning.

His desire is simple: to help others see that even in pain, there is purpose—and that every life, no matter how brief, can leave a mark that echoes in eternity.

Why I Wrote This Book

I didn’t plan to write a memoir. But after Jojo passed, something stirred deep in my spirit. We started to see signs—clear, supernatural signs—that his short life had a heavenly purpose. That he was sent to awaken something in us… and now, in others.

Writing became part of my grieving, but more than that, it became my way to obey what I believe God showed me: that some babies are not just born, they are sent. I wrote this book for the brokenhearted. For the grieving. For those who need to know that God still speaks, even through the cries—and silence—of a child.
